Ronnie Walker Saltwell 10K Road Race:

I woke up on Saturday morning convinced that this one would be called off due to the snow and ice. However against the odds and full credit to the organisers they’d worked hard to make sure that this went ahead.

I have to say despite this being the most local race of the year, it’s not my favourite course. Nothing to do with the organisers of this well established race. But more to do with my lack of enthusiasm for hills. Especially when running a multi-lap race with one long gradual slope. that you revisit 3 times…

This was my 16th (and final) race of the year and I’m fairly happy with how it went. I was never going to PB on a cold & icy day on a hilly course and despite seeing the amazing time the leaders finished in, I’m comfortable with my time.
