Great North Run:

This year’s Great North Run was my sixth, and as always, the atmosphere was great. The spectators provided their usual banter, sweets and beer along the course.

It was hot and sunny during the race, but by the time I finished and started to make my way home, the weather had changed, and rain was coming down in biblical proportions. The streets were flooding, and with all the roads closed, it took me as long to get home as it did to run the race.
